At the heart of The Wailing Ossuary lies an ancient summoning pentacle surrounded by laughing skulls. They challenge brave metalheads to lead five mighty musicians in an epic performance to try to conjure a monster of metal.
We have an important update: after Chapter VI we spoke to our Champion Johan van Stratum who wanted us to know that Stream of Passion have now played some reunion shows and released new material, all is not lost! Time to dust off that old band t-shirt and get hold of their new EP.
The Chorus
You asked for power and it doesn't get more powerful than All For Metal’s debut album Legends. Lyrics about Norse mythology are energized by high-octane riffs and delivered in stereo by a thunderous tenor and growling strength athlete. Anvil strikes announce the album (of course they do) and the eponymous track that advocates the band’s ethos. The inspiring hymn Goddess of War marches you through the longship beat of Hear the Drum to the climactic Mountain of Power which almost could have come straight from the Poetic Edda. This is the album to supercharge your ritual and if you ever get the opportunity to see All For Metal live we recommend you grasp it with both hands; the stage show is truly epic.
The Champion - II
Neoclassical metal pioneer and luminary Yngwie Malmsteem is indisputably one of the coolest guitarists of all time. A musical prodigy who formed his first band aged only 10, his first (adult) solo album Rising Force shook the guitar world to its bones. The illuminatus of elite guitar supergroup Generation Axe, following brief membership of both Steeler and Alcatrazz, Yngwie also boasts a seemingly unstoppable 22 studio album solo career. Who better to assist you in summoning your monstrous demonic entity than the man who composed Arpeggios From Hell?
The Curse
All this Nordic power has called forth the jötunn Surtr from his blazing homeworld of Muspelheim. His flaming sword would make an awesome stage prop but unfortunately you have approximately zero chance of wresting it from him. During Ragnarök Surtr is fated to overthrow the Aesir so perhaps he can show you how to overthrow the current pantheon of metal gods and engulf the nine worlds in a furious passion for your music. However no one knows exactly when Ragnarök is supposed to arrive so you might be waiting for some time…
